Editorial Policy
How RTB2 creates, reviews, and maintains clinical educational content for respiratory therapists, students, and clinicians.
Who Creates RTB2 Content
RTB2 content is written and reviewed by the RTB2 Editorial Team — a group of credentialed respiratory therapy professionals with experience in clinical practice, respiratory therapy education, and healthcare communication. Contributors hold credentials including Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
Our editorial approach prioritizes clinical accuracy, practical utility, and clear communication for practicing RTs, RT students, and interdisciplinary clinical staff. Content is not written by generalists or outsourced to non-clinical writers without expert review.
RTB2 content is not authored by artificial intelligence tools without human review and editing by qualified respiratory therapy professionals.
Content Creation Standards
Each RTB2 article or reference page follows a consistent development process:
- Topic selection: Topics are selected based on clinical relevance, frequency of bedside reference need, gaps in freely available educational material, and feedback from RT professionals and students.
- Content drafting: Initial content is drafted by a qualified respiratory therapy professional drawing on current clinical evidence, established guidelines (AARC, ATS, CHEST, NIH), and practical clinical experience.
- Clinical review: Content is reviewed by at least one additional respiratory therapy professional for accuracy, completeness, and practical utility before publication.
- Disclaimer integration: Every clinical article includes a clearly visible educational disclaimer. RTB2 content is not intended to replace facility protocols, clinical training, or qualified medical supervision.
- Source alignment: Where specific clinical recommendations are made, they align with current evidence-based guidelines from recognized professional organizations.
Update and Review Process
Clinical guidelines, evidence, and practice standards in respiratory therapy evolve. RTB2 is committed to maintaining accurate, current content. Our update process includes:
- Scheduled content reviews conducted at minimum annually for all clinical articles.
- Priority review triggered by publication of major guideline updates from AARC, ATS, CHEST, or other authoritative bodies.
- Each article displays its last review or update date so readers can assess currency.
- Outdated content is updated or, where necessary, removed rather than left in place with stale clinical information.
Educational Scope and Disclaimer
RTB2 content is strictly educational in nature. This means:
- RTB2 does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations for individual patients.
- Clinical values, parameters, and recommendations referenced on RTB2 reflect general educational standards and may not apply to every patient or clinical context.
- Dosing information, ventilator settings, and clinical protocols discussed on RTB2 are illustrative and educational — they are not prescriptive orders. Always verify against current references, pharmacist guidance, and physician orders.
- RTB2 content should never be used as a substitute for clinical training, competency assessment, or professional judgment in patient care.
- Institutional protocols vary. RTB2 content describes generally accepted principles — your facility's specific policies take precedence in clinical practice.

Corrections Policy
RTB2 takes clinical accuracy seriously. If you believe content on RTB2 contains an error — factual inaccuracy, outdated information, or a misleading clinical statement — we want to know.
To report a potential error or suggest a correction:
- Contact us via the support page and describe the specific page, the content in question, and the correction you believe is needed.
- If supporting evidence is available (guideline citation, published study), please include it. This helps our team evaluate the correction efficiently.
- Validated corrections are addressed promptly. The updated article will reflect a new review date.

RTB2's editorial content is independent of advertising relationships. Advertisers do not influence the clinical content, topic selection, or editorial position of any RTB2 article or reference page. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labeled as such and distinguished from editorial content.
